It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Duke, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world on September 5, 2026. Born on October 8, 1965, in Norfolk, Virginia, Chris was a cherished soul who touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Chris was the devoted son of Joan S. Duke and the late Augustus Duke, III. He was a compassionate brother to Bonita Davis, Troy Duke, Sr., and Kenneth Duke, Sr. (Robin) a loyal brother, cousin, uncle, and newphew.
A proud graduate of Deep Creek High School, Chris served his country with honor and distinction in the U.S. Air Force. His time in the service further fueled his passion for traveling and photography, capturing the beauty of the world through his lens and sharing it with those he loved.
Chris was known for his adventurous spirit, keen eye for the world’s wonders, and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Whether he was exploring new places or capturing moments through his camera, he enriched the lives of those around him with his zest for discovery and creativity.
In addition to his many talents and interests, Chris was a person of great kindness and warmth, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. His genuine nature and compassionate heart left an indelible mark on his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.
A service to celebrate Chris’s life will be held on October 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fitchett-Mann Funeral Home, located at 1821 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, VA. While we gather to honor his memory, the family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Carmella Duke for her unwavering support and assistance during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Chris’s memory may consider making a donation to a charity of their choice. Let us come together to remember Chris and the joy he brought into our lives, cherishing the memories we made with him and the love he shared.
Chris’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be forever remembered for his kindness, courage, and the beautiful spirit that he shared with the world. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
