Christopher Howard Brooks August 12, 1967 - June 25, 2026 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Brooks, who departed this world peacefully at home on June 25, 2026. Born on August 12, 1967, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was a rededicated Christian, having given himself to the lord and being baptized in November 2024. Christopher was a man whose life was a testament to kindness, generosity, warmth and unwavering love for those around him. Christopher was the beloved son of the late Gilbert Horace "Gil" Brooks and Linda Malott Brooks Paris. He carried forward their legacy of warmth and compassion, touching everyone he met with his gentle spirit and his genuine smile. Chris leaves behind his cherished fiancée, Whitney Aimee Justice, and his beloved daughter, Katherine Brooks, who meant the world to him. He is also survived by his brother, Robert "Bobby" Brooks and sister-in-law, Amy Brooks; his niece, Sara Brooks; his aunt, Mary Beth "Toby" Brooks and his uncle, Joe Malott Sr., and his wife, Cam. Christopher's legacy as a deeply loving, caring individual will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His gentle spirit, his kindness, and his unwavering dedication will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Christopher discovered his passion for golf at a young age. His talent and excellence on the course earned him a scholarship to Radford University. There he was an active member of Phi Sigma Kappa, and where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. After graduation, Chris embarked on a successful career in finance serving as Vice President of Saxton Mortgage Services for many years, where his professionalism and dedication were admired by colleagues and clients alike. His passion for learning eventually led him to complete his education by pursuing an MBA from Liberty University. Christopher's life was enriched by his love for golf and traveling, pursuits that took him to beautiful places and allowed him to forge lasting friendships around the world. He was a man known for his thoughtful, strong-willed nature balanced by a deeply loving and caring heart. He best demonstrated this by constantly maintaining connections with his loved ones. Whether it was his heartwarming presence at various gatherings and events, his consistent efforts to reach out and extend a kind word or compliment on social media, or even a simple phone call or message, Chris immeasurably brightened the lives of those around him. A celebration of Christopher’s life will be held on what would have been his 59th birthday, Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
