Christine Valencia Davis White; affectionately known as "Tina" was born April 18, 1937, in Lackawanna, NY to the late Mary Louise (Mell) & James Lawrence Davis. She was the eldest of 6 children of which two of her siblings, Arthur D. Davis and Linda M. Pierson preceded her in death. She was educated in the Buffalo Public School system and attended schools #6, #32 and Fosdick Masten Park High School. Christine was baptized, along with her mother in 1946 at the Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C. L. Franklin. She later joined the Second Temple Baptist Church who was pastored by the late Rev. Dr. Richard H. Dixon. After several years, she reunited with Friendship Baptist Church in 1967 under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Edward D. McNeeley. She sang in numerous choirs while at Friendship, including Choir #1, Mass Choir, and the A. C. Ware Angelic Choir. In 2017, she received a certificate for being a 50 year plus member of Friendship Baptist Church and selected as a member on the Mother Board. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was famous for her baking, especially her homemade scratch cakes, buttermilk biscuits, and dinner rolls. In 1974, she became an Avon salesperson and loved many of her customers who became long-time friends and not just customers, and retired after 48 years in 2022, when her health began to decline.
