May 21, 1940 — June 19, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Christine S. Castellano, affectionately known as Chris, who departed this world on June 19, 2026, at the age of 86, after a valiant struggle at Keystone Villas in Ephrata, PA. Chris was born on May 21, 1940, and spent her life embodying love, kindness, and a nurturing spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Chris was a devoted sister, mother, and grandmother who will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her cherished sister, Judy Terrio, and her beloved daughter, Christine, as well as one treasured grandchild who brought immense joy to her life. Chris was predeceased by her devoted husband, Mondo Castellano, and her dear son, Douglas Schroeder, whose memories she held closely and spoke of fondly. Christine's journey through life was marked by her dedication to her profession and community. She graduated with a degree in Medical Technology, a field she passionately worked in for many years. Her career was not just a job but a calling that allowed her to serve and care for others with the utmost compassion and skill. After retiring, Chris continued to give selflessly of herself, volunteering to care for seniors and working in a Christian consignment shop in Lititz, where her warm smile became a beacon of kindness to all who visited. Beyond her professional and volunteer pursuits, Chris was a lover of all creatures great and small, particularly her canine companions. Throughout her life, she raised numerous dogs, each one finding a special place in her heart. Her most recent and adored companion, Tedie, a Morkie, was often seen by her side, embodying the unconditional love and companionship that Chris so generously gave to others. Chris was also an avid gardener who found solace and joy in the beauty of the outdoors. She delighted in nurturing her garden and took pleasure in observing the little critters that visited her haven of tranquility. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing soul—a place where life blossomed and flourished under her tender care. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Christine S. Castellano will be held on June 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Spracht Snyder Funeral Home in Lititz, PA. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Chris are warmly invited to join in remembrance and reflection. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christine's memory to the American Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), an organization close to her heart, ensuring that her legacy of compassion and care for animals continues. As we say farewell to Chris, we hold onto the cherished memories and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light, reminding us of the power of love, generosity, and a life lived with purpose and grace.
