Christina Trahan

September 23, 1927 — April 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Christina Trahan, who peacefully departed this world on April 13, 2026, after a brief illness. Christina was born on September 23, 1927, in the quaint town of Sturbridge, Massachusetts, to Stephania and Franciszek Czyzewski, and it is here that she began a remarkable journey filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories. Christina was a beacon of warmth and kindness, traits that endeared her to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Known for her loving heart and generous spirit, she approached each day with a quiet strength and an unwavering commitment to support and comfort those around her. Her warm smile was a balm to many, lighting up even the darkest of days. In November of 1946, Christina married the love of her life, Rene P. Trahan. Their union was a testament to unwavering partnership and devotion, lasting until Rene's passing in 2019. Together, they raised a loving family of four children, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. As grandparents, they were doting and ever-present, sharing their wisdom and warmth with future generations. Christina's life was a tapestry woven with rich experiences and a deep commitment to her family and faith. A graduate of Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge, MA, Christina's early career included roles at Woolworths, as a telephone operator, and at Hebert's Candies, though her most treasured role was that of a nurturing mother and grandmother. Her devout faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of Saint Anne-Saint Patrick Parish in Fiskdale, MA. Her involvement as a communicant was a testament to her unwavering spirituality and dedication. Christina's love for animals, especially dogs, earned her the affectionate title of "dog whisperer." Her home was always filled with the aroma of delicious meals and baked goods, as she was a renowned cook and baker, delighting family and friends with her culinary treats. Her home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, always ready to entertain with a game of Mahjong, pinochle, or Scrabble. She shared a love for travel with her husband, exploring the world while also embracing the simpler joys of camping with her family. Christina's love for fishing was one of her cherished pastimes, offering moments of tranquility and reflection. Christina leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by her children Jonathan (Mary) Trahan, Catharine Wentworth, and Renee (William) Theodoropoulos; her grandchildren Danita (Edwin) Marcano, Kerri (Jonathan) Osimo, Matthew (Melissa) Trahan, Heather (Scott) Alicea-Bailey, Nikki (Andrew) Hicks, Nicole Theodoropoulos, Sarah (Steven) Giroux, Kristen (Tim) Kiefer, and Alyssa (Kevin) Bochicchio; fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a large extended family. Her life was a testament to the enduring bonds of family, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Christina was predeceased by her beloved husband Rene, her son Michael Trahan, her son-in-law Timothy Wentworth, her sisters Stephanie Babcock, Helen Stier, Josephine George, Angela Francis "Nonny" Dadalt, Theodora "Doris" Gurtlinger, and her brothers Frank, Anthony, Alphonse, Ludwig, Wallace, and George Czyzewski.
