Born on October 7, 1948, in the warm and welcoming town of Peru, Illinois, Christina Kaprun graced the world with her presence, bringing joy and kindness to everyone she encountered. Christina passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a life well-lived. Christina was the beloved daughter of Hank Kaprun and Nancy Toures, who predeceased her. She often spoke of her parents with deep affection, cherishing the values and love they instilled in her from a young age. Their guidance shaped Christina into the remarkable woman she became, influencing her unwavering strength and compassion. Throughout her life, Christina was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her empathy and generosity were unmatched, and she always took the time to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her kindness and gentle spirit were evident in every interaction, leaving a lasting impact on friends, family, and acquaintances alike. Christina's greatest joy and pride were her family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Laura Kaprun Russo, who was the apple of her eye. Laura's children, Ryan Russo and Amy Russo, brought immense happiness to Christina's life, and she embraced her role as a grandmother with open arms and a full heart. Her legacy of love continues to flourish through her great-grandchildren, Logan, Teresa, Chase, Gabriel, Caleb, and Lucas, who will carry forward the values and warmth she imparted upon them. In honoring Christina's life, a private ceremony will be held in her memory. While the gathering will be intimate, her family takes solace in knowing that Christina's spirit will be celebrated by all who held her dear. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Christina's memory to a charitable organization of your choice, as a tribute to her lifelong dedication to helping others. Though our hearts ache with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Christina's love and light will forever remain with us.
