Christina (Chrissy) A. Wanke, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 51. Born on May 13, 1975, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Chrissy lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to both people and animals. Chrissy was cherished by her family, including her loving son Jake, her devoted mother Julie, and her dear sister Katrina. She was predeceased by her father, Bennie Wanke, whose memory she held close to her heart. Chrissy shared the last three years of her life in a nurturing relationship with her boyfriend, Jesse, who stood by her side with love and support. A graduate of Clinton High School, Chrissy pursued her passion for animals by becoming a dedicated horse trainer. Her vocation extended beyond the equestrian world; she also took on the noble task of caring for a farm and its cat sanctuary, providing a safe haven for many animals in need. Additionally, Chrissy worked as a home health care worker, where her inherent kindness and desire to help others shone brightly. Her hobbies were a reflection of her loving nature—tending to animals on her farm and planting flowers that added beauty to her surroundings. Chrissy was known for her boundless generosity and her unwavering commitment to helping both people and creatures great and small. A ceremony to honor Chrissy’s life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM - 6PM with a service at 6PM at Handler Funeral Home in Tecumseh, Mi. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Chrissy’s enduring legacy of kindness and compassion. Chrissy's warm smile, gentle spirit, and heartfelt dedication to those around her will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be a guiding light to those who were fortunate to know her.
