It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Christiana Lafaye on April 17, 2026. Born on August 24, 1998, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Christiana blessed this world with her vibrant spirit and boundless compassion, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Christiana was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her innate kindness and empathetic nature were evident in her unwavering love for animals and her cherished moments spent with family. She possessed a remarkable strength and a positive outlook on life that inspired those around her, and she was admired for her ability to lift spirits with her infectious laughter and genuine smile. Throughout her childhood, Christiana enjoyed a deep passion for sports, excelling in various activities and bringing an unmatched energy to every team she joined. Her teammates and coaches fondly remember her enthusiasm and dedication, both on and off the field. Christiana was preceded in death by her loving father, Martin Lafaye, her cherished grandmother, Jeanette, and her beloved fur baby, Hazle. She is survived by her devoted mother, Cathleen "Cathy" Schmidt, her loving boyfriend, Daniel, her brothers John and Jeramiah, and her sisters Ana Isabella and Jemerah. She also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a wide circle of friends who will forever hold her memory close. A service to celebrate Christiana's life will be held on April 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Minnesota Society of Cremation, located at 4343 Nicollet Ave S, Minneapolis, MN, 55409. Friends and family are welcomed to gather and honor Christiana's journey, sharing stories and memories of the beautiful soul we were privileged to know and love. In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in Christiana's favorite poem, "I am Free," which she embraced as a reflection of her journey into eternal peace: *Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard His call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I’ve found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss.* Christiana’s family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. We encourage everyone to carry forward her legacy of compassion and kindness, keeping her spirit alive in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
