May 10, 1956 — April 7, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Christian “Arthur” Charles Mussche on April 7, 2026, at the age of 69, at his home in Simcoe On. Born in Ghent, Belgium, Chris was a cherished soul whose life was marked by love, joy, and an unyielding passion for the things he held dear. Chris was the beloved son of the late Firmin Mussche (2006) and Blanche Mussche (2009) whose values and spirit undoubtedly shaped the exceptional man he became. He is predeceased by his cherished wife, Beatrice, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage from 1979 until her passing in 2017. Together, Chris and Bea built an amazing life, raising three wonderful children, and creating a home filled with love, warmth and laughter. In the years following Bea’s passing, Chris was blessed to find love once more with his devoted partner Tammy Braund, who stood by his side, bringing light and happiness into his life until his final days. Chris’s legacy lives on through his loving children, Christopher (Brigitte), Jennifer (Butch), and Wesley, who have carried forward his kindness and zest for life. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Jemma, Jonathan, Jaida, and Riley, and a doting great-grandfather to Parker and Elanor. His siblings, Fernand (Brenda), Roland (Kate), Julian (Kathy), Donald, and Nadine, along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends, mourn his passing and celebrate the indelible impact he had on their lives. A man of diverse interests, Chris found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like baking pies and cakes and trying to perfect “pop’s” buns. His love for classic cars was well-known, and he spent countless hours tinkering and admiring their beauty. His musical talents found expression in his playing of the guitar, bringing joy to those who had the pleasure to listen. Perhaps one of his most cherished accomplishments was realizing his dream of opening and running "Arthur's by the Grand," a bar and restaurant that became a local treasure and a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and love for community. Chris’s life will be celebrated on April 16, 2026, Visitation at 1:00 PM and Funeral service at 3:00 PM at the Toll Funeral Home, located at 55 Charing Cross St, Brantford, Ontario. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a wonderful man whose life was a testament to love, family, and friendship. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Chris's memory may do so through donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre, an organization close to his heart as well as our own since thanks to them he was able to ring that bell more than once and gave us precious time we never would have had otherwise Chris Mussche's legacy is one of love, resilience, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
