It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Christgene L Staten, who departed from this world on November 26, 2025, at the tender age of 27. Christgene was born on October 27, 1998, in Dayton, Ohio, and his life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and creativity. Christgene was the beloved son of Camela Staten and the late Leeland Warnock. His father's passing, along with the loss of cherished family members, including his grandmother Joyce Bitts, his brother Antuan Warnock (affectionately known as Leelee), his grandfather Johnny Debrill, great-grandparents Oneal and Beverly Staten, niece Trinity Elam, and cousin Ciarra Chapman, left a profound impact on his life. Despite these losses, Christgene's resilience shone brightly, a testament to his enduring faith and loyalty to those he loved. A proud graduate of Dunbar High School, Christgene was a creative soul who found joy and expression in drawing, rapping, and recording music. His art was a reflection of his vibrant spirit and his deep understanding of the world around him. Those who knew him will forever remember his infectious smile and remarkable sense of humor, qualities that endeared him to everyone he met. Christgene was not only a devoted son and brother but also a loving father whose heart was open and understanding. His loyalty to his family and friends was unwavering, and his presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew him. He had an innate ability to make others feel valued and understood, a rare gift that left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path. A celebration of Christgene's life will be held on March 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the House of Wheat, located at 2107 N Gettysburg, Dayton, Ohio 45406. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are warmly invited to join in remembering and honoring his beautiful journey. Though Christgene's time with us was cut short, his legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye, let us remember the joy and light he brought into our lives and carry his memory with us always. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Christgene's memory to support local arts programs, ensuring that his passion for creativity continues to inspire future generations. Rest in peace, dear Christgene. Your spirit will forever be our guiding light.
