August 28, 1943 — March 12, 2026

With profound sorrow and love, we announce the peaceful passing of Chris Gosch, who slipped quietly from this earthly realm into the loving arms of his Savior on March 12, 2026, at the age of 82. Surrounded by the love and security of his devoted wife, Cindy, and cherished son, Christian, he departed this life from the comfort of his home, a place filled with the warmth and reassuring presence of his family. Chris was born on August 28, 1943, in Tonawanda, New York, to Lawrence Gosch and Elizabeth Ellen Hoffman. Chris lost his father at the tender age of 15 and while he carried that scar throughout his life, he also embraced the memories and values of his youth, embodying a deep sense of integrity in everything he did. A proud graduate of the Class of 1961, Chris fondly remembered the deep friendships he made while at Bennett High School in Buffalo, NY. Chris continued his educational pursuits at the University at Buffalo, earning a Bachelor's degree in English. His academic accomplishments underscored a life enriched by a love of language and learning. A patriot at heart, Chris enlisted in the United States Army in 1965. He served with honor, cherishing the camaraderie of his peers and reminiscing over his time stationed in Germany. In 2009, Chris and Cindy were blessed with love and were married in Vancouver, Washington, at the home of Cindy's mom, Brigitte. Their union strengthened over nearly 17 years as they built a safe and stable life for each other and for their young son, Christian. As a devoted stay-at-home dad, Chris was the cornerstone of his family, providing consistency and affection even in times of personal challenge. His tireless dedication was a testament to the depths of his love. More than anything, he wanted to be there for his family. Chris's heart was filled with creativity and ambition. A passionate cook, he delighted in crafting culinary masterpieces for his family, ever eager to experiment with new recipes. The brief ownership of a café in Kansas City sparked a dream of attending culinary school, which was sadly, never realized. Chris was an outstanding home chef. Sports were another of Chris's great loves. His enthusiasm for the Buffalo Bills was limitless, and he followed the Buffalo Sabres and Kansas Jayhawks with equal fervor. Chris also loved to entertain and had a laughter which could fill a room and lift spirits instantly. As his brother Steve so kindly shared, Chris was "the cheeriest, the quickest to laugh", finding joy in the everyday moments that make life beautiful. Though Chris is preceded in death by his beloved sister Georgia and treasured daughter Gretchen, his legacy continues through his surviving family: his wife Cindy, his son Christian, son Christopher Jr., daughter Lauren, daughter Erin, and brother Stephen, as well as his three beautiful grandchildren. Each carries a piece of his spirit, ensuring his memory will endure through generations. A graveside memorial service will be held on April 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Northwood Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 16407 NE 15th Ave, Ridgefield, WA 98642. Family and friends will gather and share in the love and memories that unite them. In our hearts, Chris will forever be a vision of love, laughter, and unwavering strength. We will miss him deeply, but find hope and joy in the knowledge that he is in eternity with our Lord, free from the suffering of this earthly body, his spirit forever entwined with the family and friends he held so dear.
