As we remember and celebrate the life of our beloved Chief Mrs Cecilia Adebisi Fasina-Thomas (née Oludaye), affectionately known as “Say Mama,” we would love to hear from everyone whose life she touched. Your tributes will bring great comfort to our family and help us create a lasting collection of memories celebrating the wonderful life she lived. ## Farewell Beloved Mummy – Chief (Mrs.) Cecilia Adebisi Fasina-Thomas, Our “Say Mama” Mum, Cecilia Adebisi Fasina-Thomas, affectionately known as “Say Mama,” was a woman with a heart big enough to embrace so many. She was loving, caring, empathetic and down to earth. People could come to her with their problems, and she would listen patiently, offer comfort and share her words of wisdom. To many, she was not just a friend or mother she was “Grandma,” a source of warmth, wisdom and reassurance. Mum loved to cook, and she would often cook up a storm. Her refrigerator was never short of food of all kinds, and there was always something to offer anyone who came around. She had a special way of making people smile, feel welcome and, most importantly, feel cared for. Her laughter, kindness and generosity made her presence unforgettable. Her faith was also a huge part of who she was. Mum would say “Thank You, Jesus” at least a hundred times a day, and sometimes even more, using her rosary to count. It was simply part of her daily life and part of the woman we all knew and loved. She deeply loved her husband, Jabby, with whom she was married to for 61 years. Her family meant everything to her, and she was completely devoted to them. Family was always at the centre of her heart, but her love extended far beyond her immediate family. So many people who crossed her path eventually became part of the wider family she created around herself. Mum was a simple, humble and genuine woman who never pretended to be anything other than who she was. What you saw was what you got pure, honest and full of love. Grandma Grandma, as we all fondly called you, your physical presence may be gone, but your love, your wisdom, your laughter, your cooking and, of course, those unforgettable Yoruba proverbs will remain with us forever. You loved many. You cared for many. You touched so many lives. You will forever be loved, forever remembered and forever be our "Say Mama".
