In Loving Memory of Chet Sanford It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chet Sanford, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many, who departed from this world on September 25, 2026, at the age of 45. Born on January 10, 1981, in Milledgeville, Georgia, Chet was a beacon of light and warmth to all who knew him. Chet's early years were spent in the embrace of his loving parents, Marian Sanford Wimberly and Willie Griswold, Dad Steve Wimberly and his siblings Sheldon Jackson, KeNisha Sanford, Lashonda Sanford, Lashondra Fraley-Sanford, and Amber Taylor, all of Milledgeville. Predeceased by his cherished brother Brian Sanford and his two sons, Jamien and Jaylon Phillips, Chet's heart remained resilient, finding strength in his surviving family. On July 2, 2000, Chet united in marriage with Kimberly Akins, the love of his life. Together, they shared 24 beautiful years, creating a home filled with laughter and warmth. Their journey was enriched by their daughter, Kyla Phillips, and their three granddaughters, Jamiya Phillips, Myla Harris, and Amari Kelly, who brought immense joy to Chet's life. A proud graduate of Baldwin High School in 1999, Chet pursued further education with determination and passion. He became a licensed HVAC technician through Central Georgia Technical College and later acquired his Commercial Driver's License from Sanderville Technical College. His thirst for knowledge led him to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he became a master electrician. Chet was an ambitious entrepreneur, owning and operating Sanford Express LLC, a successful trucking company in Arkansas for over seven years. His passion for life extended beyond work as he found joy in remodeling homes and spending quality time with his loved ones. Known for his infectious smile and humor, Chet had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on countless lives, and his legacy of warmth and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him The family of Chet Sanford would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported them during this difficult time.
