In Loving Memory: Chester Paul Anthony Carrow Jr.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chester Paul Anthony Carrow Jr., fondly known as "Pete" to those closest to him. Pete, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this life at his home on June 10, 2026, at the age of 76. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and an unyielding love for nature.
Born on June 23, 1949, in the quaint town of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Pete was the beloved son of Chester and Glenda (Roux) Carrow. Growing up, he was well-known in the community for his warm smile and adventurous spirit. Pete's early years were marked by a deep connection to the outdoors, a passion that remained with him throughout his life.
In 1969, Pete answered the call to serve his country and joined the Army, where he served honorably until 1971. After his military service, he returned to Bonne Terre, where he embarked on a career that saw him take on various roles, from being a taxi driver to a postal carrier. However, he is most remembered for his long and dedicated service at Flat River Glass, where he became a cherished colleague and friend to many.
On June 28, 1975, Pete married the love of his life, Cynthia Turner. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Though Cynthia preceded him in death, her memory remained a guiding light in Pete's life. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gregory Carrow, and his beloved in-laws.
Pete is survived by his three devoted sons, Jeremy, Josh, and Jacob (Tammy) Carrow, who were his pride and joy. He was a doting Papa to Emma, Presleigh, and Lane Carrow, always eager to share his love of fishing and the great outdoors with them. His brothers and sisters Steve (Sunye) and Mike (Terri), Angela (Scott), Candy, Tonya, Kenny, Chris, Aaron (Liz) also survive him, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will cherish his memory.
A man of many interests, Pete found solace in nature. He was an avid fisherman, spending countless hours by the water's edge, casting his line with patience and hope. Mushroom hunting was another passion, as was tending to his vibrant vegetable and flower gardens. Pete had a special fondness for the local birds, ensuring they were always well-fed and content.
A celebration of Pete's life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 5:00 PM (MilitaryHonors at 5:30) at Bonne Terre Lake View Park. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to join in honoring the remarkable life of a man who gave so much to those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to a local wildlife or nature preservation charity in Pete's memory, ensuring that his love for the natural world continues to flourish.
Chester Paul Anthony Carrow Jr. will forever be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering love for his family, and his profound appreciation for the simple joys in life. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
