Chester Dale Rhodes
May 7, 1945 — April 25, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Chester Dale Rhodes on April 25, 2026, at his cherished home in Keyser, West Virginia. Born on May 7, 1945, in the same town he loved and called home, Chester's life was a testament to resilience, love, and dedication. After a courageous battle with cancer, Chester departed this world surrounded by the comforts of family and the memories of a life well-lived.
Chester was the beloved son of the late Carrie and Chester Rhodes Sr. In his youth, he was known for his spirited nature and kind heart, traits that would define his character throughout his life. In Keyser, he met the love of his life, Dolly Rhodes, and together they built a home filled with warmth and joy. Though Dolly preceded him in death, her spirit remained a guiding light in Chester's life.
Chester's family was his pride and joy. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Carolyn Wiggins, who preceded him in passing. Chester's legacy is lovingly carried on by his brothers and sisters, who cherished him deeply, as well as his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought boundless joy and laughter into his life.
A fixture in the Keyser community, Chester was known for his unwavering kindness and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He was a man who found beauty in the simple things and was often seen enjoying the tranquility of his garden or sharing stories with friends and neighbors on his porch.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Chester's life at a service to be held on April 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Keyser Funeral Home, located at 106 Main St, Keyser, WV. It will be a time to honor the remarkable life of a man who touched so many with his generosity and warmth.
As we say goodbye to Chester Dale Rhodes, we remember a man who lived with integrity, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the community that was enriched by his presence. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Dolly and Carolyn in eternal light.
