It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chester Briggs, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on March 22, 2026, at the age of 63. Chester passed away peacefully due to kidney failure, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on December 18, 1962, in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Chester was the cherished son of Gwen and Chester Briggs. From a young age, he demonstrated an innate curiosity and a gentle spirit, qualities that would define his journey through life. He graduated from Turner High School, where he was fondly remembered for his kind nature and his ability to make friends with ease. Chester was a man who truly found joy in the open road, dedicating his career to the trucking industry. He loved his work, embracing the adventure of each new journey and the stories shared along the way. His colleagues often spoke of his unwavering dedication, his contagious laughter, and the camaraderie he fostered among his peers. Family was the cornerstone of Chester's life. He was a devoted father to his three daughters, Amber Briggs, 35, of Mexico, Missouri; Michelle Hill, 30, of Kansas City, Kansas; and Elizabeth Briggs, also of Kansas City, Kansas. Chester's love for his daughters was boundless, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and the strong, compassionate women they have become. Chester's legacy extends to his four grandchildren, who brought an abundance of joy and sunshine to his days. Whether it was sharing stories of his travels or teaching them the art of fishing, Chester cherished every moment spent with them, instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and love. Chester's warmth, humor, and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was a man who believed in the goodness of people, and his life was a testament to the power of kindness. His laughter, his stories, and his unwavering love will be deeply missed, but they will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to Chester, we remember the incredible journey of his life and the countless lives he touched along the way. Though our hearts are heavy with his absence, we find solace in the memories we hold dear and the legacy of love he leaves behind. A private service will be held for family and close friends to honor Chester's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Chester's memory to a kidney research charity of your choice, as a tribute to his courageous battle and in hopes of aiding others in similar circumstances. May Chester rest in eternal peace, forever loved and never forgotten.
