In Loving Memory of Cheryl Decker It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Decker, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on August 22nd, 2026, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on April 17, 1955, in New York, Cheryl touched the lives of everyone she met with her warm smile and caring nature. Cheryl was the cherished daughter of Donald Moranski and Paula and Carmen Prime, who have instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience. She is survived by her loving children, Christopher Tomascik, Jason Tomascik, and Terah Fisher, who were the pride and joy of her life. Cheryl was also a devoted grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense happiness and pride. She is also survived by her four siblings, Joel Moranski (Gloria), Linda Hazard (Brian), Donald Moranski (Debbie) and Sandra Gruka. She also had many nieces and nephews. A proud graduate of Tonawanda Senior High School's class of 1973, Cheryl pursued her passion for helping others by graduating from nursing school and later from ALPS Union College. Her career as a nurse spanned over 30 years, during which she made a profound impact on countless patients and their families with her dedication and empathy. In 2008, Cheryl embarked on a new journey, becoming a Pastor of the United Methodist Church. Her ten years of service in this role were marked by her unwavering faith and her commitment to guiding and uplifting her congregation. She retired with a legacy of kindness and inspiration that continues to resonate with those who knew her. Cheryl had a zest for life and a love for the outdoors. She found joy in swimming and exploring the beauty of nature. A true artist at heart, she also enjoyed expressing herself through various forms of art. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the remarkable team at Advent Health- Carrolwood of Tampa, FL for the compassionate care provided to Cheryl during her battle with leukemia. Their kindness and dedication did not go unnoticed and will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Cheryl’s life. Cheryl's legacy of love, compassion, and faith will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments but for the warmth and kindness she brought into the world. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
