Cheryl Sue (Trautman) Renzelmann

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Cheryl Sue (Trautman) Renzelmann, who departed this world peacefully on April 30, 2026, in the comforting presence of her devoted husband, Doug, at her side. Cheryl embraced this life on February 15, 1958, in the quaint town of Norborne, Missouri, a place that would forever hold a piece of her heart.
Cheryl was the cherished daughter of Harold and Lelia Renzelmann, who instilled in her a deep sense of compassion and dedication. She was predeceased by her loving parents and her siblings William (Bill) & Suzie Renzelmann, Jeannie (Renzelmann) Stark & Otis Stark, Judy (Renzelmann) Basse, Gary & Jennie Renzelman, and her great-niece, Katelyn (Kateybug) Shields, each of whom played a significant role in her life's journey.
A proud graduate of Norborne High School, Cheryl went on to pursue higher education at Warrensburg College, earning a Master's Degree in Special Education. Her passion for teaching and her commitment to children with disabilities guided her to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she embarked on a 25-year career with Las Vegas Public Schools. It was there that Cheryl met the love of her life, Doug Trautman, and they married in 2007 in the vibrant city of Las Vegas. Together, Cheryl and Doug built a life filled with love and shared dreams.
In 2011, after completing her contract in Las Vegas, Cheryl and Doug relocated to Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Cheryl continued her noble work, supporting children with disabilities, until her retirement in 2024. Her dedication to her students and her gentle spirit left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cheryl's life was beautifully enriched by her hobbies and interests. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, collecting her favorite fiestaware, often sitting on her porch, admiring her flowers, feeding the chipmunks, squirrels and birds and sharing conversations about her beloved hometown and family. She was a private individual, sharing her life's stories with those who truly mattered to her.
Cheryl leaves behind her beloved husband, Doug Trautman, and her step-daughters Chelsea and Matt Stein, Torrie Trautman,grandson Aesop, who loved his Nonnie the most, her Mother-in-law Rose Trautman, sister-in-law Rose Marie and Steve Melanson and family, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom cherished her deeply. Her many friends and co-workers will forever remember her warmth and kindness.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Doug for his unwavering love and support throughout Cheryl's life, as well as the nurses and doctors of Allegany General Hospital who provided exceptional care during her final days. Cheryl's life was celebrated in a private ceremony, honoring her wishes for an intimate farewell.
Cheryl Sue (Trautman) Renzelmann graced this world with her gentle presence, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
