In Loving Memory

Cheryl Soja
March 19, 1946 — October 12, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Cheryl Soja, cherished mother, loving daughter, and devoted friend. Born on March 19, 1946, in Honesdale, PA, Cheryl peacefully departed this world on October 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after bravely battling a long-term illness.
Cheryl was the beloved daughter of Evelyn Bryant and Irv Williams. She was also welcomed into Heaven by her ex-husband, Ronald Soja, her Aunt Frenchie and Uncle Pat, and Marcia Lee Murray, who was a sister to her.
Cheryl's legacy of love and devotion lives on through her cherished daughters, Tina Dodge and Tanya Soja as well as her son in law Eddie Dodge Jr. who were her steadfast companions and constant sources of joy. She leaves behind her "Best Buddy," John Dolan, brother Irv Williams and wife. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Richard Murray, nieces and nephews Connie, Andrea, Tricia, Mikey, Chrissy {Goddaughter), Pete, Julie as well as Noah who all have a special place in her heart.
A proud graduate of Honesdale High School in 1964, Cheryl dedicated her life to providing for her family. Her professional journey saw her working diligently at a tablecloth manufacturing company in Scranton, followed by an impressive 15+ year tenure at Fashion Carpet in Dunmore. She concluded her career with grace and skill at Spotless Dry Cleaners.
Cheryl was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Pleasant Mount. She loved to serve the community at the strawberry festivals and turkey dinners. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her beautifully maintained gardens, a testament to her joy in nurturing life. She loved her kitties "Pumpkin", "Patch", "Snowy" and "Baby Chewy". Each season and holiday was a celebration, with Christmas holding a particularly special place in her heart, as she adorned her home with creativity and warmth.
Those who knew Cheryl will remember her for her unwavering loyalty, boundless kindness, and generous heart. Her protective nature extended to everyone she loved, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand. Cheryl's nurturing spirit defined her roles as a mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
A private funeral service will be held to honor Cheryl's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Cheryl's memory to the American Institute for Cancer Research, a cause close to her heart. Cheryl herself did not have cancer, but she was profoundly impacted by the loss of Ronald Soja and Marcia Murray.
The family extends special thanks to Sharon Watson from Traditional Home Healthcare for her exceptional kindness and compassion.
Cheryl Soja's life was full of love, dedication, and joy. She will be deeply missed, and her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
