September 12, 1963 — July 21, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheryl Leonette Hovenkamp Waldmer, who departed this life peacefully on July 21, 2026. Cheryl was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, whose warmth and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew her. Born on September 12, 1963, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Cheryl was the cherished daughter of Leo F. Hovenkamp Jr. and the late Carolyn Jean Campbell Hovenkamp. Cheryl was a devoted wife to Bruce Allen Waldmer, with whom she shared a loving marriage since 1982. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: Brian, born in 1984, Jessica, born in 1988, and Christy, born in 1990. Cheryl's greatest joy in life was her family, and she was a doting grandmother to her six precious grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply. A proud graduate of her high school class of 1982, Cheryl pursued some college education, but her true calling was found in the mystical realms. Cheryl was a gifted psychic medium and a passionate paranormal investigator, devoting her life to exploring the unseen world and connecting people with their loved ones beyond the veil. Her intuitive insights and gentle guidance brought comfort and closure to many, and her presence will be sorely missed in the spiritual community. Cheryl's life was a testament to love, curiosity, and the pursuit of truth. Her warmth and generosity were felt by all who crossed her path. She was a steadfast friend, always ready with a listening ear and a kind word. Her family will forever remember her infectious laughter, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering faith in the magic that surrounds us. In addition to her husband Bruce and their children, Cheryl is survived by her loving father, Leo, and her dear sister, Carol Ann Hovenkamp Grow. Cheryl was predeceased by her mother, Carolyn, whom she has now joined in eternal peace. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Cheryl's compassionate nature and her desire to support causes that make a difference in the world. A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held to honor her memory and the profound impact she made on the lives of so many. Though she has departed from this earthly plane, Cheryl's spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal light and peace.
