Cheryl's educational journey began at Curtis Junior High in Topeka, and she furthered her studies at Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. Her academic endeavors prepared her for a fulfilling career, most notably as a Registrar at the Boy Scouts of America. Cheryl's meticulous work and unwavering dedication helped guide countless young Scouts on their paths, ensuring they received the recognition they deserved for their achievements. She retired in 2013, leaving behind a legacy of service and compassion.
Beyond her professional life, Cheryl was a devoted single mother who tirelessly worked to provide for her children, Sherry, Carl (Claudia), and Troy (Penny). As a grandmother to Nichole Costello, Kent, Tanner, Alayna, and Emily Wilson, and a great-grandmother to six, Cheryl's heart overflowed with pride and joy. She cherished every moment spent with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Cheryl's creative spirit found expression in her hobbies, where she became an avid quilter, crafting intricate quilts that served as tokens of warmth and affection for her family and friends. Her passion for ceramics was equally profound; she mastered every stage of the craft, even owning her own kiln to create stunning pieces of art that reflected her unique vision and talent.
Those who knew Cheryl will remember her as a beacon of strength and kindness, a woman whose life was a tapestry of love, perseverance, and creativity. She leaves behind her siblings Bob Glasgow and Karen Chance, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit with them.
Cheryl's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, honoring her wishes for an intimate gathering with those she held dear. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America or a charity of your choice in Cheryl's memory.
