In loving memory of Cheryl Frier, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her famil on April 11, 2026, a few days shy of her 79th birthday. Cheryl was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Born on April 20, 1947, in the charming town of Steubenville, Ohio, Cheryl was the cherished daughter of Doroless Eleanor Simmons and Leslie Arthur Simmons. She was predeceased by her loving parents and son, Andy Frier. Cheryl's journey in life led her to the sunlit shores of St. Petersburg, Florida, where she graduated from Northeast High School in 1965. Her pursuit of knowledge and her dedication to her work led her to a fulfilling career at SCE&G / SCANA Corporation, where she served as a call center supervisor. After 26 years of dedicated service, Cheryl retired in 2007, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and care. On December 24, 1992, Cheryl married the love of her life, Joel Eugene (Gene) Frier, in the picturesque city of Charleston, South Carolina. Together, they shared 34 beautiful years, building a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Their travels across the country in their motorhome were a testament to their shared sense of adventure and love for exploring the world together. Cheryl and Gene made countless lifelong friends during their travels, and her stories of these experiences will be cherished by all who heard them. Cheryl's heart was ever-open to her family, and she is survived by her devoted husband, Gene; her sister, Linda Tucker, and brother-in-law, Bill; her sons, Robbie Igoe (Cathy), David Igoe (Shannon), Chris Frier, and Alex Frier. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Mandi Polston, Randy Igoe (Nicole), Jessica Mannis (Chris), Bre'Anna Wright (Justin), Brittani Frier, and her six great-grandchildren, Ava, Kinslee, Wyatt, Kay'Vion, Ja'Khy, and Mackenzie, who she loved dearly and who brought her immense joy. Beyond her family, Cheryl held a deep passion for cooking and hosting gatherings where family and friends could come together to enjoy big meals and fellowship. Her table was always a place of welcome, filled with laughter, warmth, and delicious aromas. Cheryl was also an avid cat lover, with a special fondness for her most recent feline companion, Ms. Gracie. Cheryl was known for her generous spirit and willingness to help anyone in need. Her warmth, kindness, and love for her family were qualities that defined her and left an indelible mark on all who knew her. In accordance with her family's wishes, a private funeral service will be held to honor Cheryl's life. During this time of mourning, the family extends their deepest gratitude for the kindness, prayers, and support they have received. Your presence and love have been a source of comfort during this difficult time. As we remember Cheryl Frier, we hold her memory close, cherishing the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all of us. Thank you for being a part of her journey and for keeping her spirit alive in your hearts.
