Cherry Lee Carswell

September 29, 1948 — May 8, 2026

September 29, 1948 - May 8, 2026 With profound sadness, yet a celebration of a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Cherry Lee Carswell, who departed this world on May 8, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on September 29, 1948, in Bainbridge, Georgia, Cherry was the cherished daughter of Moses Crawford Jr. and Hattie Crawford. She was welcomed into the arms of her predeceased parents and siblings, including her son Bruce, and brothers James and Donnell, now united in eternal peace. Cherry's journey was marked by resilience, passion, and an unwavering dedication to her family and career. From a young age, Cherry harbored a deep-seated aspiration to heal and care for others, a dream she pursued with vigor and determination. In 1972, she proudly became a Licensed Practical Nurse in Florida, and her quest for excellence led her to further her education, ultimately becoming a Registered Nurse. Her professional journey was not just a career but a calling, a testament to her compassionate spirit and nurturing heart. In 1970, Cherry married Samuel Carswell, with whom she shared a devotion to family and motherhood. Although their marriage ended in divorce in 1979, Cherry's commitment to her family never wavered. She was a beloved mother to her surviving four sons and a doting grandmother to eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward her legacy of love and kindness. Cherry's career was not solely defined by her nursing accomplishments. In 1999, through heartfelt conversations and planning with her son, the vision for Hollywood Kidz Care Inc. came to fruition. For 19 years, Cherry devoted herself to this mission, opening her heart and the doors of the organization to countless children and families, leaving an indelible mark on the community. In January 2024, Cherry suffered a stroke, a challenge she met with the same grace and strength that defined her life. After completing her rehabilitation, she moved in with her son Teren, where she was enveloped in love and care until her peaceful passing. The family invites you to join in celebrating Cherry's life on May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at the Eric S. George Funeral Home, located at 6107 Miramar Parkway, Miramar, Florida 33023. Together, we will honor the memory of a woman who touched so many lives with her warmth and compassion. The family of Cherry Lee Carswell extends heartfelt gratitude for every act of kindness, prayer, phone call, visit, card, floral arrangement, and expression of sympathy shown during this difficult time. Your comforting words, support, and presence have brought strength and peace to our hearts as we celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved Cherry.
