Cherish Joy Chanel
December 24, 2017 — June 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Cherish Joy Chanel, who departed this world far too soon on June 7, 2026. Born on a snowy Christmas Eve in 2017 in Kennewick, Washington, Cherish was a radiant beacon of joy and warmth, filling every moment with laughter and love. Though her time with us was tragically cut short, her impact on those who loved her was immeasurable.
Cherish was the precious daughter of Sunny and Isaias Chanel, who doted on her every day of her precious life. She was a cherished sister, a playful friend, and a gentle soul who touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her nurturing spirit was evident in her deep affection for toddlers and babies, and she had a remarkable ability to understand and care for the needs of others, even at such a tender age.
Cherish attended Chiawana Elementary School, where she was known for her kindness, politeness, and the courage to stand up for others. She made friends easily, her heart always open and welcoming. Whether she was playing tag at recess or riding the school bus with her sisters, Cherish embodied an infectious enthusiasm for life.
Among her many interests, Cherish spent countless happy hours playing with her beloved Barbie and Bratz dolls, hosting exclusive tea parties for her stuffed animals, and exploring the wonders of nature as she caught frogs and snakes in her backyard. She was a budding digital creator, delighting in making TikTok videos and playing with Snapchat filters on her iPad.
Cherish's love for family was boundless. Her happiest moments were spent visiting her family’s lake house in Priest Lake, Idaho, and traveling to Hawaii with her entire extended family. She cherished every moment of these trips, her heart full of love and laughter as she played with her sisters and indulged in her favorite treat—pink peppermint ice cream.
Cherish's presence brought joy to all who knew her, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. She is predeceased by her great-grandparents, Jacksen Oscar Ashton and Joy Neff Abrath, and grandparents, Ezekiel and Mayra Chanel, who surely welcomed her with open arms in heaven.
A service to celebrate Cherish’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 9:45 AM at Christ The King, located at 18024 Clearwater Way, Kennewick, WA. We invite all who knew and loved Cherish to join us in honoring her memory.
In honoring Cherish’s vibrant spirit, we carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and courage. As her family, we share this special message: "As long as we live, we’ll Cherish her name. We will forever miss you but never forget you, baby girl!"
Cherish Joy Chanel, forever young and forever loved, will remain in our hearts, a shining star in the night sky, guiding us with her gentle light.
