Charolette McDonald, a cherished presence in the lives of her family and all who knew her, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on November 21, 1929, in the quaint town of Elizabethon, Tennessee, Charolette lived a life marked by love, kindness, and a deep commitment to her family and community. Charolette was the beloved daughter of Weston and Lily McDonald, who instilled in her the values of compassion and generosity that she carried throughout her life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, delighting in the company of her children and grandchildren. Her family, including Teresa Powers, Cynthia Tryon, Dani Rae Tryon, Jared Tryon, John McDonald, and Donald March Jr., as well as her five adored grandchildren, will forever hold her in their hearts. Professionally, Charolette found joy in her role as a substitute cafeteria lady. Her love for children was evident in the way she nourished not only their bodies but also their spirits. She was a warm, welcoming presence in the cafeteria, and the children she served treasured her for the kindness she showed them every day. In her leisure time, Charolette found pleasure in simple outings. She loved strolling through the mall or savoring a coffee and bread bowl at Panera Bread, often accompanied by one of her grandchildren. These outings were cherished moments of connection and joy. Charolette was known for her sweet and loving nature. She was a woman who never harbored ill will, always choosing to see the good in others. Even in her later years, as she bravely faced the return of her illness, her spirit remained unbroken. She had a particular fondness for keeping her hair just so, a small but endearing detail that spoke to her enduring grace and dignity. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Charolette’s life, in keeping with her family’s wishes. Though the gathering will be intimate, the love and memories she leaves behind will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Charolette McDonald's memory to a charity of your choice, in honor of the love and kindness she shared so freely with the world.
