Charnay Harris

June 3, 1993 — June 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charnay Harris, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, who left this world far too soon on June 23, 2026, at the age of 33. Charnay's life, though tragically cut short by a car accident, was a beacon of light and love for all who knew her. Born on June 3, 1993, in Rochester, New York, Charnay was the cherished daughter of Tim Harris and Charnita Samuels. She was predeceased by her dear sister, Cassidy Harris, who she held close in her heart. Charnay is survived by her loving siblings, Lamont Harris and Jermaine Harris, who will forever remember her kindness and spirit. Charnay's journey of learning began at Wilson High School, where she graduated with a bright future ahead. She pursued her passion for technology at the Rochester Institute of Technology, earning a degree in Computer Technology. Her career blossomed at RIT, where she dedicated six years to fostering the next generation of tech enthusiasts, especially encouraging young women to explore the world of computer technology. Charnay's mentorship and commitment to her students were the hallmarks of her professional life. Beyond her career, Charnay was an integral part of the Rochester community. Her work with the local Boys & Girls Club, where she served as a mentor to countless children, reflected her deep compassion and commitment to uplift those around her. Her positive energy was infectious, and her laughter had the power to illuminate any room. Charnay's unique sense of style and confidence were admired by many, and she had a rare ability to make everyone feel special. Charnay's spirit will be celebrated in a memorial service on July 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Faith & Hope Charity, located at 44 Colombia Ave in Rochester, NY. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Charnay are invited to join in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Charnay's name, reflecting her lifelong commitment to community service and mentorship. While Charnay's time with us was brief, her legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and cherished.
