OUR MOTHER, OUR FRIEND, OUR SISTER IN CHRIST
Today we gather, hearts held tight, To honor one who was our light. A mother, grandmother, faithful and true, Whose love shined brightly in all she’d do. Fifty-eight years were not enough, Though life brought moments that were tough. She walked with grace, with hands held high, Her faith in God her constant guide. She loved the birds that filled the sky, Their songs of hope would lift her eyes. She loved her Lord with all her heart, And trusted Him in every part. Now home with her Abba, face to face, She’s resting in His endless grace. She’d tell us often, “Beautifully created, precious and dear; God made you with purpose, so never fear.” Those words still echo every day, They guide our hearts; they light our way. Though tears may fall and sorrow stays, Her love still lives through all our days. Mom, your kindness shaped our lives. Your gentle spirit still survives. We’ll miss your smile, your warm embrace, But heaven now has seen your face. Until the day we’re home there too, We’ll carry every gift from you. We’ll love more deeply, stand more strong, And keep your faith our whole life long. So rest in peace, your race is won. Well done, good and faithful one. Forever loved, forever near— Our mother, our angel, forever dear. Written by Rayshsail Dewitt her baby girl
