Charlotte DePalma

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlotte DePalma on August 26, 2026, at the age of 100. She departed this world peacefully in the Hospice Unit at St Elizabeth's Senior Care Center in East Greenwich, RI, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 20, 1925, in Greenwich, CT, Charlotte was the cherished daughter of Jasper and Rose Mammone. Her early years were spent in Greenwich, where she graduated from Greenwich High School in 1943. Following her high school graduation, she pursued higher education at the University of Bridgeport, obtaining her degree in 1948. Charlotte's professional life began as a dedicated dental assistant in Greenwich, where her path crossed with the love of her life, Rocco DePalma. They married in 1951 and shared an extraordinary journey for 62 years until Rocco's passing in 2013. Together, they built a loving family and created countless memories. As founding members of Burning Tree Country Club and lifelong members of PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Charlotte and Rocco shared a passion for community and camaraderie. A woman of quick wit and infectious humor, Charlotte was known for her love of social gatherings, her penchant for telling jokes, and her enjoyment of a classic Seven and Seven. Her warmth and vivacity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Charlotte's legacy is carried on by her devoted family, including her two daughters, Charlotte and her husband Jeff Nau of Narragansett, RI, and Dianne and her husband Robert DeFruscio of East Greenwich, RI, and Amelia Island, FL. She is also survived by her five beloved grandchildren, Jamie Nau, Erin Nau, and Lauren Nau, Matthew DeFruscio, and Michael DeFruscio, who passed in 2011, and one treasured great-grandchild, Keegan Nau. She was predeceased by her husband Rocco and her grandson, Michael DeFruscio. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Elizabeth's Senior Care for their exceptional care and compassion during Charlotte's final days. In remembrance of Charlotte, donations should be made to St. Elizabeth's of East Greenwich, RI. Charlotte DePalma will be lovingly remembered for her vibrant spirit, her dedication to family, and her unwavering kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
