In Loving Memory

Charlie Holieworth
March 14, 1949 — June 17, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of Charlie Holieworth on June 17, 2026, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on March 14, 1949, in Greenwood, Mississippi, Charlie was a beacon of laughter, warmth, and steadfast love to all who knew him.
Charlie was the beloved son of the late Charlie Hollingsworth Sr. and Minnie Hollingsworth, who imparted in him a deep appreciation for life and faith. He is now joyfully reunited in eternal rest with his adored wife, Shirley Hollingsworth, his sisters Dorothy and Mary, and his brothers Wayne Brown and Charles Hollingsworth.
A loving father to his son, Virgil Hollingsworth, Charlie’s legacy continues through his surviving family, including his beloved brothers, Isaac Terrell Brown and John Harvey, along with John's wife, Jennifer. His family was his pride and joy, and the love he shared with them was boundless.
Charlie dedicated many years to his career at Johnson Control, retiring with a wealth of fond memories and respected accomplishments. His life was enriched by the love for his church and the deep faith instilled in him by his mother, Minnie, from a young age.
An avid fisherman, Charlie found solace and joy in the quiet moments by the water. He relished road trips to the casinos, where laughter and excitement filled the air. Family gatherings were incomplete without spirited games of dominoes and cards, where his competitive edge was matched only by his love for sports and animated discussions with his brothers.
Charlie had a unique gift for humor, always ready with a joke or a witty retort. His playful teasing, especially with his brothers, was a testament to the close and loving bond they shared. He was confident in his convictions, often engaging in lively debates, always standing firm in his belief that he was right.
In accordance with his family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Charlie's life and legacy. For those who would like to make a gesture of remembrance, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting the spirit of giving that Charlie embodied.
As we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, we hold onto the memories and stories that have shaped our lives. In a heartfelt message from his family, they express their sorrow and the love that will never fade: "Friends and family, we regret we do not know details. Our hearts are broken, but Charlie was still married to some nut. She did not allow us to be a part of this. We chose to make this obituary, because she did not. We will forever remember our brother, son, father, uncle, cousin. No one will ever take that from us."
Charlie Holieworth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived and a love that knew no bounds.
