It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Charlesworth on May 18, 2026, in his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born on September 19, 1953, in John Hughes, St. Mary Parish, Antigua, Charlesworth was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew him. His unexpected departure leaves a profound void in the lives of his family and friends.
Charlesworth was the beloved son of the late Joel Charles and Margiana Mingo-Charles. He was predeceased by his siblings Yvonne Charles. , better known as Edwah , Geenneth Joseph, Doreen Charles and Milton Charles. He is survived by his cherished children: Michael, Nadette, Craig, Jason, Gary, Dwayne, Bianca and Latrell.
The father in-law of Charisse, Noa, Linda, Rolsilla and Rayshaw. A proud grandfather of thirteen: Nakema, Keimila, Deionah, Shaqual, Izaiah,,Ariana, Adrian, Jalesia, J'Johna, Je'miah, Aiden , Kasir and Khari'lyn . Great-Grand Legend. : and great-grandfather of one, his legacy of warmth and love will continue through the generations. He also leaves behind his dear siblings: Yvonne, Joseph, Winston, Charles, Erma Charles, Hazelyn Charles-Francis,Pauline, Joseph, Claudette Charles-Pelle, and Henry Charles. The brother in-law Keithly, Shirley and Carolena. Charleswork was the beloved uncle of Maggie , and family, Cynthia ,Derick and family, Sylvia and family, and , Sonia and children, Dave and children all in England. Denmore and family, Melvin and children ,Gloria and family, Donoca and family and Peaches and family, Jemel and family; Dwwsill and Keisha ; Veneese and family, Seafieley and family, Winfield, Lashawn, C'Kiela and family, Shannon and Racheal and famiy all in the USA. Keithroy and family , and Averil and family in USVI. Vernon and family Andrea, and family, Lavern and family, Jamie and family, Jemoye and family; Shane and family,;shemriah and family , Dwayne , Neil and family and Iverson and family in Antigua.
Charlesworth was a man with an entrepreneurial spirit, having owned a tavern and a car body works business in Antigua. His skilled hands crafted and repaired, as he worked as a trenell welder, carpenter, and cafamilyairman. His talents also took him to Potts Callahan in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was a respected welder before retiring to Fort Lauderdale.
A graduate of the public schools in John Hughes and Suites, Antigua, Charlesworth was a proud member of the Steel Workers Union in Baltimore. His passions extended beyond his work; he found joy in gardening and the simple pleasure of nurturing life. Charlesworth was known for his sunny disposition, always greeting others with a smile and leaving a lasting impression.
Family meant everything to Charlesworth, and he was diligent in keeping connections strong, often reaching out to loved ones near and far. His compassion was boundless, always ready to assist others in any way he could. His deep love for his children and his enduring friendships were a testament to a life well-lived.
Charlesworth's presence will be deeply missed by his numerous , cousins and friends. He was the cousins of The children of late Murle Henry and Ionie Samual. He was also related to the Francis and charles of Jpohn hughes and Swetes . His friends, including dear friend Carol Shaw, the mother of several of his children, and friends Everett and Morris Martin, Viscount Willette Steadman Warren and Maurice.
A service to honor and celebrate Charlesworth's life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at New Wine and Fire Ministries, located at 1137 East 223 St., Bronx, NY 10466.
In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the memories we shared with Charlesworth and the love he bestowed upon us. His legacy of kindness and joy will forever be etched in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Charlesworth; your light continues to shine brightly in the lives you touched.
