September 18, 1962 — March 5, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Charles Shennette, who left us on March 5, 2026. Born on September 18, 1962, in the bustling city of Boston, Massachusetts, Charles was a beacon of warmth and compassion throughout his life. The beloved son of Charles and Juanita Shennette, Charles was raised in a family that cherished kindness, laughter, and togetherness. These values were instilled in him from a young age and remained with him his entire life. Charles's journey began at Scituate High School, where he developed a love for learning and a passion for helping others. He furthered his education with training at Wentworth Institute of Technology, a path that led him to a fulfilling career. Charles found immense joy and purpose working with individuals dealing with substance use, always offering a hand of support and a listening ear to those in need. In addition to his professional pursuits, Charles's heart was most full when surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished son and brother. He leaves behind a family who adored him, including his beloved wife, his children, his dear mother, and his sisters. His legacy of love continues through his three grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter. Charles was a man of many gifts, the most notable being his quick wit and warm smile. Friends and family alike remember him for his ability to lighten any mood with a well-timed joke, and for his genuine knack for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds and touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Outside of his dedication to his family and his work, Charles found happiness in attending family events. He cherished these gatherings, relishing the opportunity to create lasting memories with those he loved most. In these difficult times, the Shennette family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have provided support, prayers, and love. Your kindness has been a source of comfort and strength. As we say goodbye to Charles, we hold onto the memories of his laughter, his love, and the warmth he brought into our lives. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit and the lessons he taught us about kindness and generosity will remain in our hearts forever. A service to honor and celebrate Charles's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to organizations supporting individuals with substance use challenges. May Charles Shennette rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
