October 11, 1966 — May 9, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Charles Patrick DeBolt, fondly known as "Charlie" to those who knew and loved him. Born on October 11, 1966, in the sunlit city of Tampa, Florida, Charlie departed from this world on May 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and unwavering kindness.
Charlie was the beloved son of the late David Ray DeBolt Sr. and Judith Marie DeBolt, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms in the afterlife. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Briana Coleen-Marie DeBolt and MaKaylah Joy-Nicole DeBolt, who were the light of his life and his greatest pride. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother, David Ray DeBolt Jr., his niece Cassandra Rose DeBolt, his cousin Garry DeBolt, and a wide circle of extended family and countless friends who enriched his life.
Charlie's journey began with his education at Robinson High School, from which he graduated in 1986. He then answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. From 1986 to 1989, Charlie served as a Chemical Operations Specialist in the 91st Chemical Company at Fort Stewart, Georgia. His dedication and skill were recognized with an Army Service Ribbon and an Expert Badge for rifle shooting and handling.
Following his honorable military service, Charlie embarked on a career as a truck driver that spanned over three decades. Known for his reliability and dedication, he transported fuel across the state of Florida and occasionally beyond, always with a smile and an open heart.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charlie was a man of many passions. He had a profound love for woodworking, crafting pieces that were as warm and welcoming as his spirit. An avid photographer, he found beauty in the world around him, capturing sunsets and flowers with an artist's eye. Most importantly, Charlie cherished every moment spent with his daughters, whose laughter and love were the core of his being.
Charlie was a man whose infectious smile and sense of humor brightened the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He never met a stranger, and his ability to make everyone feel at ease was one of his many gifts.
For the past 12 years, Charlie shared a life rich with love and companionship with Tabatha. Their bond was a testament to the power of love and partnership, and their time together was filled with cherished memories.
A celebration of Charlie's life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of East Bay, located at 10102 Old Big Bend Rd., Riverview, FL 33578. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the life of a man who touched so many.
As we say our final goodbyes, we hold onto the memories and the love that Charlie shared with us all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity close to Charlie’s heart, ensuring his spirit of generosity continues to touch lives.
May Charles Patrick DeBolt rest in peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
