Charles Muril Reece
March 16, 1943 — May 23, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Muril Reece, a remarkable man whose life was a testament to love, integrity, and resilience. Born on March 16, 1943, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, Charles departed this world on May 23, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by his cherished family at home after a courageous battle with illness.
Charles was the beloved son of the late Frankie Virgil and Lillie Verlinda Reece. He was predeceased by his devoted parents, brothers Roy Lee and Kenneth Virgil Reece, and his precious twin daughters, Shelia Rene and Shelly Danay Reece. Despite these profound losses, Charles's life was filled with love and purpose, which he shared generously with those around him.
A proud graduate of US Grant High School in 1960, Charles embarked on a career that saw him excel in diverse roles. He began his professional journey as a machinist at Cameron Valve and later joined B&M Sales Company, Inc. His dedication and hard work propelled him from the warehouse to management, eventually becoming the co-owner, and later, the sole owner of the company. Charles's leadership was defined by his unwavering commitment to core values and his selfless mentorship of both his employees and the youth he coached in football.
Charles's life was enriched by his marriage to his beloved Patricia June Reece, with whom he shared 51 beautiful years. Together, they nurtured a family rooted in love and high moral standards, raising their children, Margaret Annette Rayburn, Lenial Ray Storts, and Stephen Brian Reece, to carry forward his legacy of compassion and integrity. Charles's family was his pride and joy, and he relished the role of grandfather to six grandchildren and great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren.
Charles's love for God and family was evident in all aspects of his life. He approached life with a competitive edge, yet always respected the boundaries of others, embodying humility and grace. His hobbies reflected his zest for life, from bowling and golfing to restoring classic cars, including a T-Bucket and a '39 Pontiac Chieftain. His presence brought warmth and joy to those who knew him, and his absence will be profoundly felt by his family, friends, and the community.
Charles is survived by his loving wife Patricia, his children, his brother David Reece, and his nephew Roy Lee Reece Jr., who was more like a brother to him. He is also remembered by numerous extended family members and countless friends, whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
A service to honor and celebrate Charles's life will be held on May 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Resthaven, located on SW 104th, OKC. Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering a life well-lived, a man deeply loved, and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
