Charles M. Edwin's

June 17, 1927 — October 6, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Charles M. Edwin's on October 6, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Rochester, NY. Born on June 17, 1927, Charlie, as he was affectionately known, lived a fulfilling life marked by love, dedication, and service. Charlie was the beloved son of the late Willam and Florence Edwin's. He is preceded in death by his cherished wife of 70 years, Dorothy, his son James, and his dear parents. Charlie's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, having spent over seven decades married to his high school sweetheart, Dorothy. Their journey together was filled with adventures, travel, and a shared joy in simply being together. Charlie is survived by his devoted children, James and his wife Sarah, Susan and her husband Micheal Smiths, and John and his husband David Edwins-Anderson. He was the proud grandfather to Stella, Kim, Amanda, Jessica, and Jason, and a loving great-grandfather to twelve great-grandchildren, whom he cherished above all. Charlie's sister, Betty Davidson, and her husband Donald, held a special place in his heart, as did his extended family and numerous friends. Charlie dedicated much of his life to education, working as a high school administrator for 15 years before transitioning to a role as a special education teacher for two decades. Even after retirement, his passion for education and community involvement never waned. He volunteered regularly at the local school and was a familiar face at the concession stands during school sporting events. A man of varied interests, Charlie loved reading, traveling, watching captivating TV shows, and most importantly, spending time with his family. His warm smile and positive spirit were constants, even during challenging times, such as his battle with stage 4 bone cancer. Charlie had a generous heart and supported numerous charities throughout his life. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. The family extends their deepest gratitude to hospice nurse Mellisa, and all those who visited Charlie during his final months, providing comfort and companionship. For those who wish to honor Charlie's memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to his heart. Charlie will be remembered as a beacon of love, strength, and generosity, whose legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
