With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Lloyd Menard, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this world on June 28, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on September 21, 1940, in the vibrant city of New York, Lloyd was the cherished son of Charles and Rose Menard. Lloyd's journey through life was marked by his adventurous spirit and warm heart. He was a gypsy at heart, traversing the expanse of the United States, leaving a trail of cherished friendships in his wake. His infectious sense of humor and love for a good joke endeared him to many, leaving smiles long after he had moved on to new horizons. Lloyd proudly served in the Army Reserves for six years, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life. His professional journey began in the bustling world of printing at American Rubber Type in Long Island, New York, where he dedicated 19 years of service before transitioning into a successful career in sales. Eventually, Lloyd found his way to Albuquerque, immersing himself in the construction business until his retirement in 2011. Throughout his life, Lloyd enjoyed golf and handball, enjoying countless hours on the greens and courts of New York. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Kay Menard, his parents, his brother Meredith Menard, and his sister Dorothy Ross. Lloyd now joins them in eternal peace. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in the hearts of his surviving family members: his brother, John Menard, and wife Debbie of New York, and his sister Sally Gray of Texas. He is also survived by his devoted children—son Michael Menard and wife Carolyn, daughter Barbara Morowski and husband James, and daughter Jennifer Swanson and husband Scott. Lloyd's spirit lives on in his cherished grandchildren, Alex and Samantha Morowski, Dillon and Daniel Swanson, and his great-grandchildren, Mya, Marcus, and Gabby Richardson. He also leaves behind his longtime girlfriend, Theresa Chavez, who provided companionship in his later years. Lloyd's life was a testament to the joy of living, the importance of family, and the power of friendship. His memory will be forever cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we remember Lloyd, let us celebrate the life of a man whose heart knew no bounds and whose laughter still echoes in the hearts of those he loved. A private family service will be held to honor his life and legacy, where stories will be shared, tears will be shed, and Lloyd's indomitable spirit will be celebrated. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Lloyd's memory. May Charles Lloyd Menard rest in peace, forever remembered for the love and light he brought into our lives.
