It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Charles L Riggs, who departed this life on July 5, 2026, at the age of 65, after a courageous battle with his health. Charles was born on November 13, 1960, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Charles L Riggs Sr. and Bessie Riggs.
From an early age, Charles demonstrated a steadfast dedication to his family, a trait that would define his life and the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. He was a man of integrity, warmth, and boundless compassion, whose legacy is built upon the love and strength he shared with his family and community.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles Riggs Sr. and Bessie Riggs; his first wife, Debra Riggs; and his dear sister, Vickie Nelson. He leaves behind a family deeply enriched by his presence and profoundly grateful for the time they shared.
Charles is survived by his devoted second wife, Natalie Green, who stood by his side with unwavering support and love. His legacy continues through his daughters, Mary Watkins, Virginia Bryant and her husband Steve, and Victoria Hopkins and her husband Sam. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, Kyle Green, Cody Watkins, Adam Bryant, Levi Bryant, Jael Bryant, Bradley Meacham, Madison, Westyn Hopkins, and Chase Hopkins, as well as a great-grandfather to Knox Green, who brought him immense joy.
He is also survived by his sister, Rhonda McGuire, and his extended family, Louis and Inez Leamy, Rodney Leamy, and Donna Wilcox, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Charles's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Angel Henderson, his caregiver and friend, as well as the dedicated nurses and aides at Southeast Oklahoma Healthcare Solutions, the compassionate staff at True Living Adult Daycare, and the team at Heritage Hills Nursing Home. Your exceptional care and kindness provided comfort and dignity during his final days, and for that, the family is eternally thankful.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Charles L Riggs.
