It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles L. Cooper, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this world on March 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on May 21, 1952, in the warm embrace of Monroe, Georgia, Charles lived a life rich with love, dedication, and service, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. Charles was the beloved son of the late Earl Cooper Sr. and Zinnie Mae Cooper, who instilled in him the values of integrity and kindness that he carried throughout his life. He was raised alongside a large and loving family, including his late siblings Johnny Claude Cooper, Glenn Cooper, Dennis Cooper, and Anna Cooper. He is survived by his brothers Robert Moon, Johnny L. Cooper, and Earl Cooper Jr., as well as his sisters Geraldine, Elaine, and Janice Cooper, who each held a special place in his heart. As a young man, Charles answered the call of duty and served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, a testament to his unwavering dedication to his country. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a security supervisor in Oakland, California, where his leadership and reliability earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and community members alike. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charles was a man of many passions. An avid photographer, he captured the beauty of the world through his lens, preserving moments that would otherwise fade with time. He was also a skilled chess player, delighting in the strategic challenge and camaraderie the game provided. A lover of history, Charles found joy in reading and learning about the past, a pursuit that enriched his understanding of the world. Charles was known for his quick wit and kind smile, gifts that brought warmth and comfort to those around him. His ability to encourage others was a testament to his generous spirit and gentle heart, qualities that endeared him to family and friends. He is predeceased by his cherished daughter, Kimmie Cooper-Crowder, and his grandsons, KaVon and Javon Crowder. Though their lives were tragically cut short, their memories will live on through Charles's great-grandchildren, Nova, Michi, and Hiro Crowder, who will grow up knowing the profound love of their great-grandfather. Charles leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, including his daughter Kimmie (Cooper) Crowder, his grandson Mr. & Mrs. KaVon (Miyah) Crowder, and his grandson Javon Crowder. His great-grandchildren, Nova, Michi, and Hiro Crowder, are his living legacy, carrying forward the values and love he imparted. A service to celebrate Charles's life will be held on April 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Jackson Funeral Home, located at 1338 Gratis Rd., Monroe, Georgia 30656. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Jackson Funeral Home for their professionalism, kindness, and support during this difficult time. In honoring Charles L.
