April 8, 1945 — August 11, 2026

Mr. Charles Emerson Carle, Jr. of Brighton, Massachusetts, was born on April 8, 1945. He departed from this earthly life on August 11, 2026. Charles “Brother” was born to the late Charles Carle Sr. and the late Thelma (Huff) Carle of Mattapan, Massachusetts. Charles attended Boston Trade School for Boys and Charlestown High School, where he ran track. He was a dedicated and hard worker. Charles worked many years at Digital Equipment Company in Maynard, Massachusetts, until he relocated to South Carolina. He later work for Hitachi Corp until his retirement. After retiring he moved to Cape Coral, Florida where he briefly lived until returning to Boston, Massachusetts. Charles recommitted his life to Jesus Christ and joined Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He cherished his time attending church, where he joined the Men’s Choir. Charles loved the fellowship with his church family and singing in the choir. Even when he could not longer attend church in person he would listen to gospel songs in his apartment. He had a sweet tooth, his favorite sweet was ice cream. Although he knew he shouldn’t eat it, he would have a “stash” in his freezer. He spent most days watching old, nostalgic western tv shows or talking on phone with family, especially his son Michael. Preceding Charles in death is his elder sister Barbara “Pinkey” Crosby (Richard) of Jacksonville, Florida, and his youngest brother Edward “Eddie” Carle of Mattapan, Massachusetts. He leaves to mourn his passing his brother Ira Carle (Selena) Pennsylvania, sisters Celia “CJ” Carle (Massachusetts) and Thelma “Alice” Addo Carle (Arizona). His legacy of life is continued by his children Wayne (Aleisa), Christine (Corey), Nicole, Leah, Michael (Ashley), Lisa and Eric. “Smile and Go On”

You can shed tears that I am no longer with you, Or you can smile because I have lived. You can close your eyes and pray that I'll come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all I have left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see me anymore, Or you can be full of the love we shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember me and only that I’m gone, Or you can cherish my memory and continue to live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn away, Or you can do what I’d want you to: “Smile, open your eyes, live, love life and go on another day.”
