January 14, 1980 — March 21, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Edward Hinton, who departed this world on March 21, 2026, at the age of 46. Charles, affectionately known to many as Big Miz, left us peacefully after a long and courageous battle with illness, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Born on January 14, 1980, in Wilmington, Delaware, Charles was a beacon of light from the very beginning. He was the beloved son of Dorethia Walker, Walter O. Rogers III, and Charles and Sharon James. Though his journey on this earth has ended, the impact of his presence will remain a cherished memory for all who knew him.
Charles was predeceased by his dear sisters LaToya Hinton, Kecia Rogers, Parthenia Exum, and Sharnett Rogers, who have undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the afterlife. He is survived by his cherished children, Jaden Hinton, Zania Hendrix, Asia Price-Hinton, Jordan Campbell, Cameron Lovett, and Bryce Brown, who will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience.
He leaves behind his devoted siblings Stanley Dollard, Marvin Dorsey, Kasaiphia Brown, Dorethia Hinton, Micah Andrews, and Jambrea Robinson, each of whom shared a unique and unbreakable bond with him. Charles is also remembered fondly by his grandparents, Floyd Shields and Charles and Oliva Stallings, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and very close friends, whose lives he touched deeply.
A graduate of Norcross High School, Charles was known as a jack of all trades, a testament to his unending curiosity and zest for life. Though his career was interrupted by illness, his ambitions and dreams never waned. Charles's love for the Philadelphia Eagles was legendary, and his passion for his team was only matched by his love for gospel music and his unwavering faith in God.
Charles's quick wit and warm smile were his trademarks, and he had an exceptional gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity were felt by all who crossed his path, leaving a lasting imprint on countless lives.
In this time of mourning, we take solace in the words of Psalm 16:11, a special message from him: "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Charles's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and faith. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived and cherish the memories that will remain in our hearts forever. To honor Charles Edward Hinton, a beloved man, let spirit forever shine brightly in our lives.
