Charles E. Stettler, Sr., born on October 17, 1947, in Allentown PA, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at the VA Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, service, and love. Charles was the cherished son of the late Russell and Jean Berger. He grew up surrounded by his siblings, sharing a bond that lasted throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his three brothers, Warren, Donald, and Robert Berger, and his beloved sister, Deanna Wenner. He is also survived by two sons, Charles E Stettler, Jr. and Lance Coster, and daughter-in-law, Heather Stettler. Charles embraced life with a spirit that endeared him to all who knew him, and he leaves behind two grandchildren, Olivia Stettler and Blake Coster, who carry forward his legacy. A proud veteran, Charles served his country with distinction in the United States Marines from 1966 to 1970, achieving the rank of Sergeant. His bravery and dedication were recognized with numerous honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and two Purple Hearts with one star. After his military service, Charles brought his dedication and warmth to his work in retail, serving as a sales associate with Walmart. He was also an active member of the Ranger Lake and Liberty Fire Company communities, where his presence was always appreciated. An avid outdoorsman and fisherman, Charles found peace and joy in nature, and he delighted in all sports. His laughter was infectious, a distinctive sound that brought smiles to many faces. Known for his generous spirit, Charles had a remarkable gift for making people laugh and a willingness to do anything for anyone in need. He was both a father figure and a friend, offering guidance and kindness to all who crossed his path. A celebration of Charles' life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Fairgrounds Hotel in Allentown. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who touched so many lives with his humor and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor Charles' memory to make donations to a charity of their choice. They would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Veterans Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA, for their dedicated care and support. As the fisherman said, "When we understand that each day isn’t one more day, but one less, we’ll start giving more value to the hours on the water that matter." May we all remember to cherish each moment as Charles did, with laughter and love.
