March 24, 1975 — March 16, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Charles Douglas Mullins Jr., affectionately known to many as "DogmanDoug," who left us on March 16, 2026, just days before his 51st birthday. Born on March 24, 1975, in West Pittsburg, PA, Charles was a beacon of warmth, creativity, and kindness, whose presence touched all who were fortunate to know him.
Charles was the beloved son of the late Charles D. Mullins Sr. and Karen S. (Craven) McConnaughy. He is predeceased by his parents and stepfather David E. McConnaughy, as well as his stepbrother William O. Mullins, all of whom he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his loving son, Luke T. Mullins, and his cherished stepdaughter, Lilly Brown. Charles was a proud grandfather to two beautiful grandchildren, whose laughter and joy brought immense happiness to his life. His memory will also be carried on by his brother, David J. McConnaughy, and his devoted nephews, Owen, Justin, Brandon, and Jake Mullins. His American Bullies, loyal companions, were a testament to his boundless love for animals.
Charles was a man of many talents and passions. A graduate of Lawrence County Votech in 1993, he pursued a career that reflected his vibrant spirit and creative soul. As a talented tattoo artist, Charles transformed skin into canvases, sharing his art and connecting deeply with those he worked with. His love for breeding and sales also highlighted his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Charles found solace and joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding peace in the stillness of the woods and the thrill of the catch. Evenings filled with bonfires and the hum of ATVs were his favorite, especially when accompanied by the harmonious strumming of his guitar. Most importantly, he treasured every moment spent with his children and dogs, creating memories that will forever be cherished.
Known for his kind heart and generosity, Charles was always ready to lend a helping hand. His genuine care for others was a defining quality that endeared him to everyone he met.
Family, friends, and those whose lives he touched are invited to celebrate Charles's life and legacy on March 20, 2026, at Noga Funeral Home. The service will commence at 2:00 PM, where we will gather to honor a remarkable man who lived life with passion and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to a charity of one's choice, reflecting Charles's lifelong commitment to helping others in need.
As we bid farewell to Charles, we hold onto the memories of a life beautifully lived, knowing that his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and warmth he so freely gave to others.
