Charles Dewayne Wincher
November 26, 1968 — July 25, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Dewayne Wincher, who departed this world on July 25, 2026, after valiantly fighting a hard battle following a stroke. Charles was born on November 26, 1968, in Texarkana, Texas, and from the moment he entered this world, he brought warmth, laughter, and love to those around him.
Charles was the beloved son of Marjorie and the late Charles Wincher. He was predeceased by his father, his brother John, his cherished wife Dedra, an unborn child, and two grandchildren, Miracle and Blaydn, among other dearly loved family members. He is survived by his devoted mother, Marjorie, his sister Debra Wagner and her husband Billy Don, and his five daughters: Jillian Harper (Cardamon Harper), Kathleen Morgan (Joseph), Samantha Clements, Alyssa Clements, and Mackenzie Wincher (Ash Franklin). Charles was a proud grandfather to his three precious grandchildren: Malaysia Harper, Levi Morgan, and Koltyn Morgan.
Charles shared a beautiful marriage with Dedra Wincher, whom he wed on May 18, 2002. Together, they raised a loving family and created countless cherished memories. Though they have been apart for nearly seven years, they are now joyfully reunited in eternity. In recent years, Charles found companionship and happiness with his girlfriend, Jana Coats, who brought joy to his life.
For nearly three decades, Charles dedicated himself to his career as a log truck driver. His unwavering dedication and infectious humor made him a beloved colleague. Known as the funniest guy on the job, Charles had a unique talent for brightening the days of everyone around him.
Outside of work, Charles was an avid family man and a devoted husband. He found solace in fishing, shared his handyman skills freely, and was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. A former dirt track racer, he remained an enthusiastic spectator, enjoying the thrill from the sidelines.
Charles's kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was the type of person who would show up with flowers and food when someone was feeling down. His playful teasing was a testament to his affection and a sign of his love.
A service to honor the life of Charles Dewayne Wincher will be held on August 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hanners Funeral Home, located at 103 West Main Street, Atlanta, TX 75551. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his life and sharing in the memories that he left behind.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Charles's memory to a charity of your choice.
Charles Dewayne Wincher touched the lives of many, and as we say goodbye, we hold dear the laughter and love he shared with us all. May his soul rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Dedra and all those who went before him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
