Obituary of Charles Allen Babb Jr.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles Allen Babb Jr. on August 11, 2026. Born on March 17, 1962, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Charles was a beloved son, brother, partner, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by dedication, kindness, and resilience. He passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with heart-related health challenges.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Babb and Mae Babb, as well as his brother, Mark Babb. He is survived by his devoted partner, Mary Roberts; his cherished daughters, Amanda, Nicole, and Brittany; his sisters, Mae Rauls and her husband Michael, and Sharlene Nicholson and her husband Ralph; along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and extended family members who will forever treasure his memory.
A proud third-generation servicemember, Charles honorably served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1982. Although his military career was cut short due to injury, his commitment to service and his love for his country remained steadfast throughout his life. Following his military service, he built a respected career as a dive instructor, sharing his passion and expertise with others.
Charles found great joy in the outdoors and was especially passionate about fishing and riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle. His adventurous spirit, positive outlook, and warm personality brought comfort and happiness to all who knew him. Despite the health challenges he faced, he maintained a cheerful disposition and an enduring sense of optimism that left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Kensey & Walton Funeral Home, located at 3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Georgia.
