Charlene MacMillan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on January 3, 1952, in Salamanca, NY, Charlene lived a life marked by resilience, love, and unwavering determination.
Charlene was a devoted wife to her husband of 38 years, Craig, and a cherished mother to her sons, Ronald and John, both residing in Georgia. Her family was the centerpiece of her life, and she found immense joy and pride in her 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless happiness and laughter.
Throughout her life, Charlene was known for her indomitable spirit and hard-working nature. She dedicated herself to her work until 2010 when she faced a life-changing challenge, becoming paralyzed from the neck down. Undeterred, Charlene fought valiantly to regain movement in her hands and legs, showcasing her incredible determination and strength. Her journey inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Charlene's life was not without its trials, having bravely battled cancer and endured the heartbreaking loss of her daughter to the same illness. Despite these challenges, she remained a steadfast beacon of hope and resilience for her family and community.
Charlene was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Through her involvement, she dedicated herself to supporting veterans and their families, embodying the values of service and community that were so dear to her heart.
While Charlene's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her loved ones, her legacy of strength, love, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her family will honor her memory in a private ceremony, cherishing the intimate moments shared with a woman who meant so much to them.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Charlene's memory to the American Legion Auxiliary in Honeoye, NY, an organization that was close to her heart and reflects her lifelong commitment to service and community.
