November 20, 1941 — May 29, 2026

Charlene Boyd, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Medilodge in Marshall, Michigan. Born on November 20, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, Charlene brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered throughout her 84 years of life. Charlene was the cherished daughter of Sol and Kay (Schwartz) Capitol, who predeceased her, along with her devoted husband, James Boyd. She also joins her niece, Shanna Cale, nephew, Patrick Sweeter, and brother-in-law, Terry Sweeter, in eternal rest. Left to carry on her legacy of love and laughter are her sisters, Mindy Sweeter and Renee (Jack) Diamond, and her many nieces and nephews, who cherished her deeply: Rebecca McKenzie, Billy (Sarah) Sweeter, Robert Sweeter, Troy Sweeter, April (Raymond) Edwards, Ilene Bailey, Ron (Jane) Goldberg, and Brian Diamond. Charlene also leaves behind several great-nieces and nephews who will forever remember the warmth of her embrace and the joy of her smile. Charlene was a woman of many passions, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a talent for cooking and baking, filling her home with delicious aromas and her loved ones with fond memories of shared meals. Her love for playing cards and BINGO was well-known, as was her penchant for singing along to oldies music, her voice a soothing melody that added joy to family gatherings. Above all, Charlene cherished her time with family, creating a tapestry of love and togetherness that will endure in the hearts of those she leaves behind. A service to celebrate Charlene’s remarkable life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Network Family Church, located at 13600 28 Mile Rd., Albion, MI 49224. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Medilodge in Marshall, MI, and Oaklawn Hospice Staff for their support. Special thanks to Pastor Bruce Johnson for officiating the service and providing comfort during this time. Charlene Boyd’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and an indomitable spirit. Her memory will forever be a guiding light for her family and friends, reminding us all to cherish the moments that truly matter. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
