Charlene Ann Weiss
June 23, 1940 — April 11, 2026
Charlene Ann Weiss, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at Stoughton Hospital, Stoughton, WI, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Charlene was born on June 23, 1940, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, to Gorden and Doris (Kroll) Berg.
Charlene was a woman of extraordinary spirit and kindness, known for her infectious sense of humor and quick wit. She was raised in Wisconsin Rapids, where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958. Her journey of life blossomed further in Milwaukee, WI, where she pursued her passion for beauty at Beauty School.
In the winter of 1960, on December 10th, Charlene married the love of her life, Herb Weiss, in a ceremony that marked the beginning of a beautiful union filled with shared dreams and cherished memories. Together, they created a loving home and welcomed their children, Troy, Trish, Tama, and Charlie, into the world, nurturing them with warmth and unwavering support.
Charlene's life was a testament to the joy of familial bonds and the beauty of simple pleasures. She found joy in her career in retail during her early married life, where her charismatic personality and dedication shone brightly. Her true calling, however, was her family, with whom she shared countless moments of laughter, love, and learning.
Her hobbies were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. Charlene had an undeniable love for music, having played the cello during her school years, and carried a melody in her heart throughout her life. Her love for singing resonated with all who knew her. However, those closest to her would fondly remember her most notable hobby—cleaning—which she approached with the same enthusiasm as she did all aspects of her life.
A dedicated member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, Charlene's faith was evident in her compassion and generosity. Her life was an embodiment of grace, marked by her dedication to her church and her community.
Charlene was predeceased by her loving husband, Herb Weiss, her cherished grandson, AJ Zdroik, her parents, Gorden and Doris Berg, her brother, Gary Berg, her sister and brother-in-law, Dan and Marti Schiestle, and her in-laws, Max and Minna Weiss. She is survived by her son, Troy Weiss; her daughters, Trish Zdroik, and Tama and Charlie Drexler; her five grandchildren, Alex (Mikaela) Zdroik, Abe Zdroik, Angi Zdroik, DeeAnn Drexler, and Cole (Shelby) Drexler; and her two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Walker Zdroik.
Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at ODC, Inc. Daily Living Skills and Stoughton Hospital for their loving care and support, which provided great comfort to Charlene and her family.
A service to honor Charlene's remarkable life will be held on April 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Herman and Taylor Funeral Home. The family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating her life, sharing stories, and remembering the light she brought into the world.
Charlene Ann Weiss will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unyielding devotion to family—the true treasures of her life.
