Charleen A Cransen

December 14, 1938 — June 5, 2026

It is with a mixture of profound sadness and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Charleen A. Cransen, who departed this world peacefully at her home on June 5, 2026, at the age of 87. Charleen was born on December 14, 1938, in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late George and Catherine (Wold) Cransen. Charleen lived a life full of warmth, creativity, and dedication. Her journey began in Providence, where she cultivated a love for storytelling and an affinity for nurturing life, whether through her cherished plants or the lives she touched around her. She was a dedicated member of St. Timothy's Church, where her faith was a guiding light and a source of strength throughout her life. Her professional life was as diverse and vibrant as she was. Charleen began her career as a secretary with the Narragansett Brewing Company, where she was admired for her diligence and attention to detail. She later transitioned to the real estate industry, where, as a realtor with Century 21, her keen eye and compassionate nature helped many find their forever homes. Charleen's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when she became the proud owner of Y-Not Ceramics, a creative space that reflected her artistic flair and provided joy to many in the community. Charleen's home was a sanctuary filled with the laughter and stories of friends and family. She was a devoted sister to her late sister, Nancy Hundley, and an adoring aunt. Her nephew, James Quaine IV, who preceded her in death, held a special place in her heart. Charleen's beloved Aunt Madeline Riva and Uncle Ralph Riva, who have also passed, were important figures in her life, and she cherished the memories they shared. A woman of simple pleasures, Charleen found joy in the everyday. She was an avid fan of soap operas and spent many happy hours engrossed in their stories. Shopping on QVC was a favorite pastime, where she delighted in finding unique treasures that brought her joy. Above all, Charleen was a master storyteller, captivating those around her with her vivid tales, often finding humor and wisdom in the everyday. Charleen's legacy is one of love, resilience, and creativity. Her kind spirit and gentle nature will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take solace in the knowledge that she lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a trail of beautiful memories. A memorial service to celebrate Charleen's life will be held at St. Timothy's Church in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Charleen's memory to a charity of your choice or to St. Timothy's Church, reflecting her lifelong commitment to her community and faith. Charleen A. Cransen's life was a testament to the power of love and creativity, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Charleen, knowing you have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
