Charito Sinense Lucas
December 25, 1944 — May 14, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet a celebration of a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Charito Sinense Lucas, who departed this world on May 14, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on December 25, 1944, in Alcala, Pangasinan, Philippines, Charito was a Christmas gift to her parents, the late Marcelino and Leonora Sinense. She grew up surrounded by the love of her family, including her siblings, Marcelino Sinense, Jr. and Margie Worrell.
Charito's journey was marked by an unwavering dedication to the service of others. After graduating from Cipriano P. Premesias High School, she pursued her passion for understanding and helping people by earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Far Eastern University. Her quest for knowledge and her desire to heal led her to complete her Doctor of Medicine at the University of San Carlos.
In 1984, Charito returned to her roots in Pangasinan, where she built her own practice as a general practitioner. For over a decade, she became a beacon of hope and kindness, particularly for those who could not afford proper healthcare. Her name, “Charito,” meaning charity, truly embodied her spirit; she served with a warmth that transcended her medical skills, touching the lives of everyone she encountered.
Her life took a new direction when she moved to the United States, yet her calling remained the same. Charito dedicated her later years to caring for the elderly and those in need of medical assistance, providing comfort and dignity with every encounter. Her patients and their families were touched by her patience and kindness, and she became a beloved figure in their lives.
On November 22, 1974, Charito married the love of her life, Norberto Lucas, in Pangasinan. Together, they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising four children: Pia Almajano (Wendell), Enrico Lucas (Jean), Angelo Lucas, and Ulysses Lucas (Heidi). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Ynovea, Yssabria, Yllegria, Ian, Enzo, Thelia, Matheo, Nathanael, and Dominic, who will forever remember their grandmother's gentle spirit and unwavering love.
Charito was a woman of simple pleasures. She found joy in watching soap operas, indulging in the thrill of shopping, and nurturing her beloved orchid plants, which bloomed as beautifully as the compassion she extended to others.
Charito's life was a testament to selfless service, and her memory will live on in the countless lives she comforted and inspired. Her warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on her community and will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
A service to honor and celebrate Charito's life will be held on May 29, 2026. As we gather to say goodbye, we remember her not with tears but with gratitude for the love and light she brought into our lives.
In honoring Charito, let us continue her legacy of kindness and compassion, for it is through such acts that she will remain with us forever.
