In Loving Memory of Charisse Holdren
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Charisse Holdren, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on April 23, 2026, at the age of 71. Charisse was born on February 23, 1955, to Trueman and Sherry Cheney, who preceded her in death, along with her brother Carlton Cheney, sister Lisa David, and infant daughter Kirsten Holdren.
From the moment she graced this world, Charisse brought warmth, kindness, and a gentle spirit that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her life was a testament to the virtues of perseverance, compassion, and love, attributes that she carried with grace throughout her journey.
On December 27, 1975, Charisse married her soulmate, Victor Holdren, embarking on a beautiful 50-year journey of love, partnership, and devotion. Together, they built a family grounded in love and values, raising their daughter, Heather Murphy, who carries forward her mother's legacy of kindness and strength.
Charisse's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She dedicated many years to the field of education as a special needs teacher, where her patience and empathy left lasting impressions on countless young lives. Her career later transitioned into the role of a tax professional, where her keen intellect and meticulous nature shone brightly.
She found immeasurable joy in her family, especially in her grandgirls, Victoria Murphy, Alexis Sullivan, and Talynn Murphy, and her great-grandgirl, Maia Rose. Each one brought her immense pride and happiness, and she cherished every moment spent sharing stories, laughter, and love.
Charisse is survived by her devoted husband, Victor, her daughter Heather, and her adoring grand and great-granddaughters. She leaves behind her brothers, Jack Cheney and Mike Cheney, and sisters Denise Gill and Annette Abbott, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold her in their hearts.
A service to honor Charisse's remarkable life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Red River Cowboy Church, located at 121 N. Ave E, Burkburnett, TX. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the beautiful soul who enriched our lives with her kindness and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Hospice of Wichita Falls and the Red River Cowboy Church in Burkburnett, TX, organizations that held significant meaning to Charisse.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find solace in the memories of Charisse's gentle spirit and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire and guide us in the days to come. Rest in peace, dear Charisse, knowing you are forever cherished and never forgotten.
