In Loving Memory

Chantinique payne
September 10, 1980 — May 10, 2026
In loving memory of Chantinique Payne, a beacon of warmth and compassion, who left this world on May 10, 2026, at the age of 45, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Chantinique was born on September 10, 1980, in the heart of Detroit, a city that instilled in her an enduring strength and resilience.
Chantinique was the cherished daughter of Mark and Iesha Payne, who predeceased her but left her with a legacy of love and perseverance. Her life was one marked by dedication and an unyielding spirit. She was a devoted mother to her three beloved children, Deshawn, Ali, and McKenzie, who will continue to carry forward her laughter, wisdom, and love. She also leaves behind a wide circle of nieces and nephews who adored her and will forever cherish the lessons she imparted.
A proud alumna of Central High School, Chantinique went on to graduate from Henry Ford, where her thirst for knowledge and compassion for others became the foundation of a long and impactful career in healthcare. For over fifteen years, she was a steadfast member of the team at DMC Hospital, where her steady hands and caring heart touched countless lives. Her colleagues and patients alike were often uplifted by her gentle demeanor and her unwavering commitment to their well-being.
Chantinique’s spirit was a quiet poem: generous, resilient, and brightened by small acts of kindness. Her life was an embodiment of quiet strength and grace, and she leaves behind memories that bloom like late-summer flowers — sudden, beautiful, and impossible to forget.
Though she never married, Chantinique’s life was filled with love and the kind of friendships that transcend the passage of time. Her home was always a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, a place where everyone felt welcome and cherished.
Services to honor Chantinique's remarkable life will be held on May 22, 2026, at 1:45 PM at the Flowery Mount Baptist Church, located at 15467 Linwood. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well-lived and deeply loved.
In these moments of profound loss, we find solace in the enduring impact Chantinique had on those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind. May we hold her memory close, celebrating the beautiful person she was and the indelible mark she left on all our hearts.
